For those without Mothers 2008
by Lady Lee inmothers day can bring up many issues for some of us.
for some their mothers have passed away and the opportunity to say i love you in person is forever lost.
for others, our mothers are lost to the wts.

To my Mom
Our relationship has become a shell of what what it used to be and should be. I would love to have a close, tender and truthful relationship with you, but we both know the reasons why that cannot happen. I wish our relationship was not fraught with tension, but it is.
It is hard for me to sit and write this, because I feel so full of pent up anger that I cannot express fully as I know that this will leave us with no relationship.
Having said that, I would just like to tell you that I will always love you, and I am eternally greatful that you and Dad brought me into this world... It is only now as a Mom, that realise just how just how difficult a job this Mom thing is. I know that you only wanted the best for me, and still do, and you know what Mom, I think I have the best... I have a loving husband, two extraordinarily beautiful and bright children who adore me. A roof over our heads and good food every day. I have dreams and aspirations and hope. Whether you will ever understand this, I don't know, but I thank you anyway.
Love
Hilary
PS Thank you Lady Lee!

9-11 Attacks
by Tired of the Hypocrisy ini think that the terrorists would have done better to fly those planes into wt branch offices.
there would be no need for the usa to go to war in iraq or afghanistan and they would have been hailed as heroes fo helping knock down an evil tower that casts a giant shadow of oppression, shame and fear.
maybe if any of the "goobering buddy" (ha i love that term) had survived the attacks they might have gone and molested osama and his little fruity indonesian pantyboys!

Falling Asleep at Assemblies
by LouBelle inyes i have dozed off many times when i used to attend.
most of the time kept the shades on as we used to have outside assemblies.
the thing was not to slide off the chair, drop your head forward or snore.. i've seen some brothers/sister hitting a serious lean to the left or right as they slept and then they'd jerk awake, only to lean again.. some people had sneaky methods.

LOL at garybuss - those photos are classic - boy do they bring back memories!
I used to spend most of the time doodling and that kind of thing to avoid falling asleep and then of course there was the prerequisite take a looooong walk to the loo break - this could take up a whole talk if you did it right and bumped into enough people. One of the last CA's I recall attending I sat with the crowd of bad association that I was hangiing out with at the time - we were whispering and passing notes and generally being quite disruptive I guess, we were actually called out about it... quite immature behaviour I admit, but it was the most fun assembly I remember going to!

Three months of Hard Core training.
by LouBelle inwe had a compitition running in one of our local newspapers offering 2 people a 3 month programe of serious fitness training.
i'm the type that will occassionally go to the gym, take a stroll, but i entered because i would really really love to get fit and get into the healthy lifestyle (not that i'm unhealthy).
i got a call today to say i'm in the top 8 - i'm so excited.

Well, I am off the my little boy's "mothers day picnic" at his preschool this afternoon! I told my mom about it - no comment either way. She is either choosing not to say anything or it is just not that big a deal anymore, but I know that when we were kids, mother's day was always a no-no.

Some updates
by Lady Lee inwell i fried my motherboard so no computer access for me for a while.. my jw grandmother died last tues. of course no one told me until the day before the funeral.
my ex-jw aunt thought she would give it a few days to see if my mother would make the call.
and i suspected no one told her dfed son, so i asked mouthy/grace and her daughter to get a message to him.

Pop Psychology - warning
by Uzzah infor the past few months i have found myself biting my tongue at what i have been observing with some participants on jwd.
please keep in mind i have been around since noah on these boards (circa 1997) and have watched several trends and people come and go over the years.. i am not seeking approval, support or anything other than expressing a personal observation.. every once in a while an egoist appears on the ex-jw boards.
more often than not a former elder who feels they continue to hold some sort of special wisdom that they must proclaim to the masses.

Wow Lou - that sounds like an amazing trip... I wish I could be doing the same thing.
My sister in law lives in Manhatten and I die a little each time I talk to her and hear about the things she is up to! I also have family in San Diego, San Franciso and Dallas - so much I would love to see!!!!
